Current Research Projects

Most of my research projects involve observational astronomical interferometry, including advanced concepts like the lunar-based MoonLITE facility, the stellar surface imaging Big Fringe Telescope, or the 3D printed Optimast orbiter.

Observationally I've used the Palomar Testbed Interferometer (PTI), Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI), the GSU CHARA Array, the Navy Prototype Optical Interferometer (NPOI), the Keck Interferometer, and the IR/Optical Telescope Array (IOTA).  Specific topics include (with links to papers):

In addition to astronomical interferometry, I am working on planet detection through ground-based transit observations.

Take a look at Cool Stars 18, or my ancient but popular essay on Life as an Astronomer.

Also available are online versions of published papers and presentations.
